Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment

Level 1 – Surface Web

A dark chapter in American medical history, the Tuskegee experiment involved the U.S. Public Health Service studying the natural progression of untreated syphilis in African American men under the guise of free healthcare. Conspiracy theories suggest that this was part of a larger, ongoing pattern of medical experimentation on marginalized groups. The study, which ran from 1932 to 1972, has fueled suspicions about government healthcare programs to this day.
