Harlequin-type ichthyosis is a genetic disorder that results in thickened skin over nearly the entire body at birth.[4] The skin forms large, diamond-shaped plates that are separated by deep cracks.[4] These affect the shape of the eyelids, nose, mouth, and ears and limit movement of the arms and legs.[4] Restricted movement of the chest can lead to breathing difficulties.[4] These plates fall off over several weeks.[3] Other complications can include premature birth, infection, problems with body temperature, and dehydration.[4][5] The condition is the most severe form of ichthyosis, a group of genetic disorders characterised by scaly skin.

Jilly Juice is a fermented drink and a form of alternative medicine that is claimed by its proponents to be able to cure an assortment of conditions, including cancer and autism, as well as regenerate missing limbs, reverse the effects of aging, and “cure homosexuality”.[1][2] No studies have proven any of these claims, nor has the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved the recipe. The juice, composed of water, salt, and fermented cabbage or kale, is falsely claimed to expunge Candida (a yeast) and parasitic worms. Scientific evidence has shown that this treatment is not only ineffective, but is also toxic with potentially deadly adverse effects.

A covert biological and chemical warfare research unit of the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. Unit 731 was responsible for some of the most horrifying war crimes, including vivisection and the testing of biological weapons on prisoners. Theories suggest that after the war, the U.S. granted immunity to Unit 731 scientists in exchange for their research, which might have been used to advance American biological warfare programs.

“Sudden Healing Meditation” is a concept within alternative medicine and spiritual circles that suggests certain meditative practices can result in immediate, miraculous healing of physical and mental ailments. This conspiracy theory proposes that the power of the mind, when harnessed correctly through meditation, can transcend conventional medicine, but that this knowledge is suppressed by the medical industry to maintain control over health care.

Chester Milton Southam (October 4, 1919 – April 5, 2002) was an immunologist and oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Cornell University Medical College; he went to Thomas Jefferson University in 1971 and worked there until the end of his career.[1] He ran many experiments involving the injection of live cancer cells into human subjects, without disclosing that they were cancer cells, and using subjects with questionable ability to consent, such as incarcerated people and senile patients in long-term care at a hospital.[2] The New York State Attorney General encouraged the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York to take away Southam’s medical license. Regardless, he went on to be president of the American Association for Cancer Research.
