Stickdeath.com was a popular website during the late 1990s and early 2000s, known for its violent stick figure animations and flash games. The site was a pioneer in the online animation community, but many of its games and animations were lost when Adobe Flash was discontinued, and the site eventually went offline. Although some content from Stickdeath.com has been preserved by fans and can be found in various archives, many games and animations are considered lost, particularly those that were less popular or only available for a short time. The loss of Stickdeath.com reflects the broader challenge of preserving early internet content, especially in formats like Flash that have become obsolete.

“Zero Man” is believed to be a lost pilot episode of an anime by Osamu Tezuka, the legendary creator of “Astro Boy” and “Kimba the White Lion.” This pilot, created in 1968, reportedly featured a character who could erase existence with a mere thought, effectively reducing everything to “zero.” The anime was said to be so disturbing in its themes and visuals that it was never aired, and all known copies were supposedly destroyed. However, some claim that the episode still exists in private collections and that those who have seen it describe it as a dark reflection of Tezuka’s usual optimistic style. The theory suggests that “Zero Man” was canceled not due to its content, but because it hinted at forbidden knowledge regarding the nature of reality and consciousness.

“Skywayman” is a lost silent film from the 1920s, directed by James P. Hogan and starring Ormer Locklear, a famous stunt pilot. The film is notable because Locklear died during the filming of a stunt for the movie, adding a tragic element to its history. “Skywayman” was released posthumously in 1920, but no known copies of the film have survived. It’s believed that the film was lost due to the common practice of neglecting or destroying silent films in the decades that followed, as well as the nitrate film stock’s tendency to degrade over time. Despite its historical significance, the film remains one of many lost pieces of early cinema.
