Something Wicked This Way Comes (Lost Original Cut Of Dark Fantasy Film; 1982)
Level 4 – Charter Web
“Something Wicked This Way Comes,” a dark fantasy film based on Ray Bradbury’s novel, originally had a much darker tone in its initial cut. The original version of the film, directed by Jack Clayton, was reportedly more faithful to Bradbury’s eerie and unsettling source material. However, Disney executives found the original cut too frightening for family audiences and ordered significant reshoots and edits, resulting in a final version that was less intense. The original cut has never been released, and the footage from this version is considered lost. Despite Bradbury’s involvement in the reshoots, fans and scholars have long been curious about the film’s initial, more ominous incarnation.
