In ancient Roman times, a roost of prophetic chickens was habitually consulted by eminent statesmen on matters of the utmost importance. These ‘sacred chickens’ were revered for the power they conferred on those who heeded the predictions about the future that were gleaned from their eating behaviour. While the very notion might strike the modern reader as being almost comical, to the Romans the sacred chickens were no laughing matter.

The Lidice massacre was the complete destruction of the village of Lidice, in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, now the Czech Republic, in June 1942 on orders from Adolf Hitler and Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler.

British Invasion of Iceland


HISTORY

During World War II, in May 1940, the British military launched an unexpected invasion of Iceland, a neutral country, to prevent Nazi Germany from occupying the strategically important island. The invasion was swift and largely unopposed, leading to a British occupation that lasted until American forces took over later in the war.

HISTORY

The “discovery” of North America, primarily the area where the United States exists now, has been a debated for decades. Who was first and the methods in which they did it. Most accept that Christopher Columbus was given credit for “discoverying” the area and aiding in the original European colonization. This topic could be suggestion several different things, 1) That the land was never “discovered”, it was long known about and conquering it was the initial plan or 2) The story that we are told never happened, perhaps America and it’s inhabitants have existed much longer then we are told and the story was made up to cover up the actual history.
