John Fare, also known as the “Robot Artist,” is said to have performed a series of art shows in the 1960s and 70s where he systematically replaced parts of his body with mechanical prosthetics, ultimately leading to his death. Theories suggest that Fare was part of a secret government experiment or that his performances were a cover for illegal cybernetic research. However, no concrete evidence of Fare’s existence has ever been found, leading some to believe he was a myth or a symbol of post-humanism.
