Eminem was about to get political and the powers that be weren’t a fan of that, so they took advantage of his substance abuse issues and would frequently facilitate meetings and studio sessions where drug use was common, so he would just rap about the usual bullshit. There was also a conscious effort to have Eminem more associated with “uncool” White trash types than before.
