VHS tapes of certain nostalgicallycharged films can be used to curse targets with spectacleclass solipsism: perceiving scenes and characters in media that no one else is able to. these are usually of nightmarish effect. pixel imps are the most common and are barely a nuisance, appearing as a cluster of dead pixels tuned to complex, “fleshy” shades of red. rarer are cherubic waveforms, beings that beautify music. most image entities tend toward the inferior orders of reality given their medium of manifestation. see Platonic hierarchies
