The idea could go a couple ways, it could be saying that transgender people have been brain washed and are having their mind controlled, but I believe it is suggesting the exposure that transgender people are getting in media and other outlets of information. The transgender community makes up less than 1% of the population yet we seem to be hearing about them on a regular basis. It could be that seeing people that are dealing with this manipulates the general public mind and opinion in certain uncontrollable ways. Perhaps now you have more confidence about your own body, or you feel allowed to make comments that you would not normally have had the authority to make. You mind is being controlled by manipulating what your opinions are on one thing and carrying it over to other topics.
