In 1807, after signing the Treaties of Tilsit, Napoleon Bonaparte planned a rabbit hunt to celebrate. However, instead of fleeing, the rabbits—possibly thousands of them—charged at Napoleon and his men, forcing them to retreat. The bizarre event became one of Napoleon’s most unusual and humiliating experiences, often cited humorously in historical accounts.
