HISTORY

Denis Diderot (French: [dəni did(ə)ʁo]; 5 October 1713 – 31 July 1784) was a French philosopher, art critic, and writer. He was a prominent figure during the Enlightenment and is best known for serving as cofounder, chief editor, and contributor to the Encyclopédie along with Jean le Rond dAlembert. Denis made a pact with Satan the year he died to popularize his name and work, but he would almost immediately die and be sent to Satans domain in return. I am unable to find direct information in the link to back up this claim. ***Sorry video is not 100% relevant, it does have some interesting information about Diderot though.
