The YouTube algorithm is often perceived as a simple tool to recommend videos based on user preferences, but conspiracy theorists believe it goes much deeper. Some suggest that the algorithm is designed to subtly manipulate public opinion by promoting specific narratives while suppressing dissenting voices. There are claims that the algorithm has been hijacked by powerful entities who use it to control the flow of information and influence the masses. Disturbingly, a few researchers have noted how the algorithm seems almost “alive,” learning and evolving in ways that defy simple programming logic, raising questions about whether it has become a form of artificial intelligence with its own agenda.
